Volunteer Firefighter Insurance

Who is Covered?
All members in good standing with the volunteer fire department including auxiliary
members. Any person who volunteers their services at the scene of a fire will also be covered,
provided that the offer of services is approved by the Fire Chief or someone acting on their behalf.
Where are they Covered?
The firefighters are covered for injury whenever they are on duty, in their own territory or in any other territory.
When are they Covered?
Firefighters are covered while on duty as a firefighter, including travel to and returning directly from the fire (whether on a fire truck or otherwise), at the fire drills, parades, and tests or demonstrations of any firefighting apparatus. If you subscribe to the off duty 24-hour optional coverage, you are covered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
